Slideshow Wedding in Susafa – Alex and Jaime

We went to Sicily on one our first holidays together and by chance booked Masseria Susafa as a stop off in the countryside on our way from Ortigia to Palermo. We couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived! The environment took our breath away. We spent two amazing days enjoying the views, the peace and the delicious food. We loved everything about it.

We had commented that Masseria Susafa would be a sensational place to get married while we were there. When we got home we decided we would go again the next year at the same time because it was so fantastic. Before our second trip we got engaged and instantly knew that we would want to getting married in Masseria Susafa. The hospitality, the architecture, the beauty was exactly what we had hoped for.

We were lucky enough to have a Pizza Party for our family and friends the day before the ceremony. We made our own pizzas and arancini with the help of Susafa’s amazing chefs.

It really got the wedding celebrations well and truly started.

Planning the wedding with Giovanna, Tiziana and the team at Masseria Susafa was excellent. Susafa made our wedding favours, small bottles of their olive oil so that people could take a taste of Sicily home with them.

We had an antipasti buffet before dinner. Everyone was in love with the veal burgers and the fresh ricotta. The dinner in the evening consisted of fresh spinach and ricotta pasta followed by tenerumi and pork risotto. The third course was citrus pork with a potato side course.

The main restaurant was then opened up as a dessert room. The phenomenal selection of desserts meant that we were spoiled for choice.

Our fantastic lemon cake was made by Pasticceria Ferruzza – Castellana Sicula. I could not have tasted a better cake and I just wish we could have taken it back to London with us.

The flower arch, baskets, table setting, bouquets and button holes were by Floridea di Giannopolo Vincenzo – Caltavuturo. We could not have been happier with how the venue had been perfected with the flowers.

Alex’s suit was by Paul Smith and My wedding dress was by the designer Justin Alexander from the boutique Wedding Atelier London in Bayswater.

Our experience with Antonio & Antonio as our photographers for the day could not have been better; they made us and our guests feel so comfortable and felt like they were just part of party. We instantly loved them and their attitude of getting involved in the day. They were very sympathetic to our inability to stop laughing and we love that we could laugh together during these moments. We would not hesitate to recommend Antonio to take timeless photos of a special occasion.

Our chance booking at Susafa lead to the happiest day of our lives in the first place we tentatively discussed getting married.

Getting married in Masseria Susafa, memories to last a lifetime.
